Hong Kong - Day 1

This morning I was awakened to Miss Abey's iPad'a Alarm at 6:00 am, rise and shine.

Today's plan is to rest a little this morning, maybe jump in the hotel pool and do some local site seeing. But first things first, get Dad a Iced Latte. As we made our way to the "STAR FERRY" to get a ride across to Victoria Harbour to see the sites, we found Starbucks...

Here's the kids enjoying a couple of Vanilla Bean's

Abey on the ferry boat to the Hong Kong Island.

A pattern is starting to develop, each time we walk downtown (Sydney or Hong Kong) we see a huge Apple Store...can't resist going in...and spending $

We then walked over to the "PEAK Tram" however the line was an hour deep. So we walked back to the bus station and hoped on #15 - Victoria Peak. It was nice and cool (air conditioning) on the bus, and we got to see some amazing sites on the bus ride up the mountain.

Kristen, Jacob and Abey noticed the Haagen Dazs Store at the top of Victoria Peak, so we stopped for a treat.

After the ice cream, we walked around to see the sites from Victoria's Peak.

The view from Victoria's Peak of the city and Kowloon are amazing...it was cloudy but we got some great photo's.

Going up the tram is always busy, however going down is usually no problem. So we jumped on the first tram back to downtown.  The tram is over 100 years old and climbs almost 400 meters or 1,300 feet. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_Tram)

After the tram ride, Abey wanted to go shopping for her birthday present. So off to ITC (http://www.ifc.com.hk/en/mall/shopping.jsp) which is the International Finance Center. Several hotels are connected to the ITC and another "Meca" for Auntie Lydia... Abey liked a hand bag in the Coach Store, however the price tag almost sent dad to the poor house. So we passed on the hand bag... ¥2,200 (approx. $350 US).

We got back on "Star Ferry" to Kowloon and got a great pic of the kids on the ferry.

Here are the kids at the Kowloon Ferry Station.

After a long day of sightseeing it was time to hit the pool and hot tub at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Kowloon. It was awesome, now where to eat? Abey voted on where to go for her birthday dinner.

We are off to "Outback Steak House", I think she's having Mac & Cheese withdrawals...lol. (http://www.outback.com.hk/locations/TSTNathanRoad.asp)

We had a great time at Outback, and we even sang "Happy Birthday" or "生日快乐"  or "Shēngrì kuàilè" to Abey.

Here is a video of everyone in the restaurant singing to Abey.

We watched a movie and called it a night...
