Athens - Day 3 - the hunt for a laundromat

Well day 3 started off great, it was another warm sunny day...not a cloud in the sky. Dad and Abey were up first, so we headed out on a mission to find a place to get 3 + weeks of laundry done. The hotel concierge pointed us in a direction but upon arrival it was a dry cleaning service.

Abey and I headed to Starbucks for a venti iced non-fat latte and a tall vanilla bean (guess which was for whom?)...Since we are staying at the Marriott Athens next Tuesday night, we decided to head into Athens to find the hotel. It was easy to find and we asked the hotel concierge if they had on site laundry machine. Like most hotels they do not, but the lady pointed to the only laundromat in Athens which was 5 min away. The "Athens Launderette" (http://www.athenslaunderette.gr) is next to an internet cafe and sports bar which is perfect for dad to watch some TV and do laundry. So the plan is tomorrow morning, Abey and I will get up really early and be the first to get all 4 washing machines. A wash is 5 euro and dry is 2 euro...

On the way back to the hotel, we decided to grab another latte at Starbucks and gas the rental car up. I believe we will spend another perfect day in paradise at the pool.

Beach from the lobby!

We had dinner at the "Travena 37" is a traditional Greek tavern with very good Greek grilled dishes. The casual atmosphere is perfect for a great beach side culinary experience. As you can see the restaurant over looks the Mediterranean Sea.

Jacob and Kristen had the calamari, Abey the pasta and we ordered a dish of fish and meat for the table.

Jacob enjoying the calamari, tentacles and all!

Kristen, wondering if she can handle the fresh calamari!

Abey digging into the pasta, however Greek pasta taste different.

Meat Platter for the family! Chicken Kabob, Lamb Chops, Meatballs and Lamb with potatoes and mushrooms, very tasty!

Seafood Platter for the family! Shrimp, Salmon, Squid, and Octopus with potatoes and mushrooms, very tasty!

Abey giving the unlucky shrimp a kiss goodbye! Adios Mr. Shrimp!

Great bottle of wine with dinner...

Westin Beach as the sum begins to set! Awesome!

We went for a walk and found the site of the new "W" hotel opening in 2016...it will have an awesome view of the Mediterranean Sea.

We plan on watching the sunset from our balcony tonight...another great day in what Kristen calls "Paradise"...she asked me today if we could move to the Westin...not sure I have enough points for that! LOL

kali̱nýchta or Good Night!
